By

Snacks are food items which everyone loves to eat. They are light appetizers that won’t make you feel full. There are a variety of snacks available if you poke around a food shop. Colorful, delicious and highly decorated ready-made snacks allure children and excessive consumption of them is harmful. But if you can spend a little time for preparing these home-made healthy snacks, you can at least save your child from eating those junk foods. Try these and share your experience with me. I personally make these in the evenings when my son comes back after school.

These are certainly exotic dishes to Americans. But I'm willing to try them out because they seem tasty -- these can be healthy snacks for adults too. Voting this Up and Useful.

Upma is definitely a healthy recipe for kids. Its much better than feeding them fast food on the go. I think children will enjoy the food if you somehow get them involved n the preparation. Also, adding cool and creative ideas will win them over. Sometimes, animal shaped cracker in soups, for instance, will heighten their imagination. Great hub. Voted up.

The traditional upma we make using semolina is what comes to mind when we hear "Upma". But now various upmas from a variety of ingredients are made out very attractive. These are some easy, tasty, quick making snacks that are catchy to the children's eye. Thanks for the nice compliment and vote.

Very interesting recipies. Most of these are new to me. I love learning about new foods. I have a three year old who will only eat green beans, cheese, and yogurt. She will not eat things like ice cream or french fries. I guess I got lucky. Great hub!

Ruchira 5 weeks ago

love each of them, radhika. I usually prepare them on weekends.

Hi tammyswallow,

It's great to hear that your child eats natural foods. Most of the children of this age today are interested in fast foods. Thanks for commenting and sharing. Have a nice day!
